If you or your loved ones have been affected by the storm, you may have questions about medications or access to care. The following information may provide helpful guidance.

Prescription drugs

Many of our members have prescription drug coverage through Optum Rx®, our pharmacy benefits manager (PBM).* As our PBM, it is committed to providing a full spectrum of pharmacy care, especially in times of emergency. Several measures are in place to ensure members have access to their prescriptions to best meet their needs during public emergency events.

  • Florida residents: If you take prescription medication, you can refill medications early one time until Oct. 23, 2022. Additionally, prior authorization requirements may be waived during this time, depending on your specific benefits plan.
  • Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina residents: If you take prescription medication, you can refill medications early one time until Oct. 29, 2022. Additionally, prior authorization requirements may be waived during this time, depending on your specific benefits plan.
  • Virginia residents: If you take prescription medication, you can refill medications early one time until Oct. 28, 2022. Additionally, prior authorization requirements may be waived during this time, depending on your specific benefits plan.

Home delivery orders will continue to process for distribution. Shipping carriers may hold orders until impacted ZIP codes are cleared for shipping. If you live in an impacted ZIP code and need a medication urgently, please call Customer Care at 855-811-2218 for assistance from our PBM. You may be able to transfer your prescription to a retail pharmacy or have it shipped to an alternate location.
